Jennifer Lin
Untitled Nude Back

About the Item

Untitled Nude, 2012 Archival pigment print 32 x 42 inches Edition of 6 New York based artist Jennifer Mien Mien Lin’s (1983-) conceptual photography is a look into the identity of a roving global observer. As an artist of multiple nationalities, Lin taps into this pluralism, using it to observe the accelerated world with discernment and empathy. Lin has lived in Brazil, India, Taiwan, China, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, England, Canada, and she currently resides in New York City. Lin employs the female body in her work to illuminate this sense of movement. Her photography reveals an aesthetic fascination with the navigations of the female body through foreign environments. Lin’s work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Haven, Toronto, and Rio de Janeiro.

His painterly, impressionistic style captures the essence of composition in every genre, including nudes, still life, landscapes and architecture. His ten photo art books have sold over half a million copies. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis brought Farber into Doubleday for the publication of his book “By The Sea,” which won the Art Director’s Award for color photography. Aside from numerous creative awards, Robert Farber also received the Photographer of the Year from PMA (Photographic Manufacturers Association), ASP International Award from the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and The American Society of Photographers. This award was given to those who’ve made a significant contribution to the science and art of photography. Some previous recipients of this award include Dr. Edwin Land (inventor of the Polaroid), George Hurrell, and National Geographic. Farber’s work with nudes in fine art as well as in the commercial realm is known and respected. He has lectured for Ogilvy & Mather on the “Nude in Advertising.” ASMP requested to use Farber’s nudes as an examples of the artistic application in support of the National Endowment of Arts, after its backing of the controversial Mapplethorpe/Serrano exhibit. His book, “Farber Nudes,” was also included the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis estate...

  • Tree Farm, Long Lane, East Hampton, NY, 1999
    By Robin Rice
    Located in Hudson, NY
Listing is for a FRAMED edition print. Edition 7 of 25 After 30 years on West 11th Street, The Robin Rice Gallery celebrates its first ever exhibition for Robin Rice. For decades, Robin has exhibited a wide variety of photographers at the gallery but never her own work. As the show’s title denotes, “It’s About Time.” The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd from 6pm to 8pm. The exhibit runs through March 17, 2019. While her photography spans five decades and multiple continents, Rice maintains a cohesive, candid voice that carries throughout all of her work. Observing the world around her in a cinematic way, she possesses an uncanny ability to recognize and capture moments of beauty and the spontaneity of the human spirit. By evoking a wonderstruck sensibility, Rice expresses a deep-rooted love for both people and landscapes using her distinct bohemian style. In this salon-style retrospective, Rice uses an “old school” approach and shoots with her Nikon on Tri-X film. When creating her art, she insists, “the camera has a mind of its own.” The scenes captured in her photography are unedited and thus born purely from the magic of the in-camera composition. In the invitational image, “Tree Farm...
