About the Item
Signed limited edition 16x20" print of Mick Jagger with Anita Pallenberg and Michèle Breton by Alec Byrne, taken at the film set of Nicolas Roeg’s “Performance” in July 1968.
After weeks of lobbying, Alec Byrne was granted permission to photograph on the set of Nicolas Roeg’s Performance – Mick Jagger’s first feature film. Alec remembers: “The crew was in the middle of adjusting lights or whatever when I walked in, all far too busy to pay attention to me. Whatever notice they or Mick and the girls did make of me must have been defused by their faith in the security downstairs: surely if I was there I was supposed to be there. I identified a spot on the other side of the room from which I could get the photos I wanted while remaining out of the way and, with as much clarity of purpose as I could muster, started a beeline—just as a couple of grips decided to do the same with a bulky, heavy-looking light stand. Lacking any room to maneuver and not wanting to retreat, I moved into the only space available: a seat on the bed with Michele, Anita, and Mick.”

Alec Byrne covered the rock and roll scene in London from the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s during the height of London’s rock revolution. After sitting in storage for close to four decades, his archive was reintroduced to the world in late 2012 with an acclaimed one-night show in Los Angeles attended by more than one thousand people. Since then, Byrne's work has been featured during the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, exhibited at the SXSW music festival in Austin, and accepted into the National Portrait Gallery in London. His first book, LONDON ROCK: The Unseen Archive, was published in Dec. 2017 to critical acclaim.

- Kate Bush BIRDFISHBy Guido HarariLocated in Austin, USSigned limited edition print of Kate Bush “Birdfish” by Guido Harari Kate Bush 'Birdfish' photograph taken during the officlal photo shoot for her album The Sensual World in 1989. Guido Harari recalls, "I collaborated with Kate for over ten years, doing her official press photos for “Hounds of Love”, “The Sensual World”, “The Red Shoes” and on set photography for her film “The Line, The Cross & The Curve”. She wanted me to avoid the iconizing of previous shoots, and find a different way of capturing her more naturally. Shooting in the studio for hours allowed for much improvisation as there were to be no props or fancy sets. I used different techniques more to entertain ourselves rather than to experiment! And it worked!"
