An inverted car, gleaming in chrome, speeds through sumptuous layers of pink, translucent yellow, and a veil of lacy, flower-like shapes. Across the top, the artist’s name is splashed in bold yellow capital letters. Poster reads: Rosenquist, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago July 1 – Sept 2, 1972. This poster commemorates Rosenquist’s first American retrospective, which traveled from the Whitney, New York, to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. This vintage poster is not previously owned and has been stored in an archive since its publication.
