About the Item
Monson, Jim American, 1943- ). ICARUS. Etching in two colors, 1972. Monson 30. Edition of 30, signed,titled and numbered "6/30," all in pencil. Pritned on BFK Rives paper. There were a further 30 printed in darker colors, and separately numbered (Monson 31). 15 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches (plate), 28 1/2 x 20 3/4 inches (sheet). There are foxing spots in the margins, away from the image, else in excellent condition.
Monson worked at Atelier 17 from 1969 until 1973. He is still an active printmaker, living in France.
