SPIRIT COSAS VIII is a limited edition color lithograph by the American painter Lamar Briggs printed using traditional lithography techniques on archival Arches paper. Lamar Briggs (1935-2015) was a Texas artist who was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is known as a masterful colorist whose art draws from music, nature, and love of life. Print size - 29 x 21.5 in., unframed, excellent condition, pencil signed by Lamar Briggs Edition size - 200 Year published - 1978 Spirit Coasas VIII is a free flowing abstraction inspired by Native American culture and spiritual practices. Rich earth colors of warm rust, browns, turquoise, and white create an impressive formation of cascading colors. Artist Statement: "My approach to art is to open myself visually to the world around me as much as possible-by reading, traveling, collecting and just plain "seeing". Music and color 'flow' for me. I paint to music and the music and rhythm speak to me more than any external experience."
