About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Juice & Coffee” is a 13.5 x 10.75 inch unique abstract inkjet print represented on 17 x 11 inch Awagami Washi paper embracing both digital printmaking and creative photography. A cup, saucer, drinking glass, and folded napkin appear solarized in deep warm yellows with hints of violet and are in contrast to the screen of sepia toned clouds above it. An additional impression of the cup and drinking glass in graphic black sits on the center of the media within the layers of ink creating a modern cohesive composition. The depiction of everyday objects within the layered abstract imagery are whimsical additions to this lively print. Deconstructed images and photos are cropped, manipulated, and scanned to create the “digital plates” that become the catalyst for deGrandpre’s one of a kind prints. Each unique image is printed only once and is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image. This print will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This vibrant modern print will make a striking addition to any contemporary collection.

The subjects for his striking and captivating visuals are typically set in the most ordinary environments, drawing the viewer into a charged but serene experience based on composition, palette and formal lines. Saturated in color, the nominal subjects gather a haunting and mesmerizing quality, creating a poignant pretext for the making of a formal color photograph. Decisively capturing the traces left by humanity, Pawassar's images are filled with a sense of universal nostalgia and pay homage to the passage of time and the extinguished moment, referencing documentary and street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastian Salgado...Category
