Abstract Composition is a Lithograph realized by Piero Pizzi Cannella in 1985. Good condition, no signature. Limited edition of 125 copies. Piero Pizzi Cannella (born 20 November 1955) is an Italian artist and painter. From the beginning he participated in the activities of the neo-avant-garde of La Stanza, a Roman gallery run by a group of artists including Bruno Ceccobelli, Giuseppe Gallo, Stefano Di Stasio. There he held his first solo exhibition in 1977 and a conceptual installation in 1978. In 1980 he participated in a collective anachronistic gallery La Tartaruga in Rome. In 1984 together with Bruno Ceccobelli and Marco Tirelli he founded the Nuova Scuola Romana or Scuola di San Lorenzo at the Pastificio Cerere where Giuseppe Gallo, Gianni Dessì and Nunzio Di Stefano already worked. In that period he exhibited figurative paintings at l'Attico gallery in Rome and on numerous occasions at Annina Nosei Gallery in New York, Galerie Folker Skulima in Berlin, Galerie Triebold in Basel, works focused on the evocation of the human figure through everyday objects decontextualized, such as furniture, clothing, accessories. He takes part in numerous events and group exhibitions: Paris Biennale and São Paulo (1985); Sydney Biennale (1986), XI and XII Rome Quadriennale (1986 and 1996); Venice Biennale (1988, 1993 and 2011); Istanbul Biennale (1989).
