About the Item
Original Lithograph signed by the artist and numbered 156/200, and is a limited edition. Ralston Crawford was born in Saint Catherine's , Ontario in 1906. He came to the U.S. in 1910 and grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. He achieved acclaim for his precise interpretations of tanks, bridges, silos, barns and other structures. During WWII he worked with the military weather division preparing weather charts for pilots. He was commissioned to paint the lighting system of the Curtis Wright aircraft plant in Buffalo. He taught at the Buffalo School of Fine Arts, and worked in lithography while in Paris in the early 1950's. His work is exhibited in the Albright -Knox art Gallery in Buffalo, N. Y. . The lithograph S.S. De Grasse was created in 1952. It is a lithograph in colors and printed by Desjobert, Paris and published by La Guilde international de Gravure , Geneva.
