About the Item
"Bluebird" is a unique monotype printed on Arches Cover paper. The print was created at Manneken Press in 2017. The artist drew the image directly onto a plate using water soluble crayons and employed "sgraffito", using combs and needles to draw into and carve away areas of the image. The finished plate was printed using damp paper which reactivated the water soluble material, and under the tremendous pressure of the press the image transferred to the paper.
The image/plate size is 36" x 24", the paper size is 43" x 31". The artist's signature, title, date and impression number are in pencil on the lower margin, and the Manneken Press blindstamp is impressed into the lower left corner.

- Cabin I: modernist, urban architectural monoprint & collage in gray, blue, blackLocated in Bryn Mawr, PA"Cabin I" is a Bauhaus-inspired monotype and collage (work on paper) reminiscent of the aesthetic of Le Corbusier. It is part of Bouton’s "Habitat and Urban Matter" series, which is inspired by the straight lines of modernist architecture and hard-edged geometrical forms of the urban environment. Bouton, a French printmaker from Paris who has also lived in London, Myanmar, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Turkey, creates work that responds to her experiences during her travels and the cultures she encountered. Since settling in the Philadelphia area, she has been inspired by the urbanism of the city, whether a sleek, new apartment block, an abandoned warehouse, or a half-demolished home. Her latest works are interpretations of these buildings, with both broad street views and focused details from single structures –- the pattern of the skyline, a patchwork of broken windows, an industrial color palette. She is drawn to the history of the spaces and lives lived within these buildings, as well as their intrinsic beauty of the structures, whether that beauty emerges from design or degradation, or some combination of the two. Signed and dated. Bouton is a French artist living and working in the Philadelphia area whose boundary-pushing printmaking and paper works exhibit influence from living and working in international cities across the globe. Bouton earned her BFA in Painting and Printmaking and her MFA in Arts and Textile Design from the prestigious ESSAA Duperré in Paris, France. Since leaving Paris 15 years ago, Bouton has lived and exhibited her work internationally in Paris (France), London (UK), Philadelphia (USA), Rangoon (Burma/Myanmar), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Dakar (Senegal) and Istanbul (Turkey). She has presented solo exhibitions at the Biennale de l’Art Africain...Category

- Me + Paul We Are the Trolls (famous monoprint from Douglas Cramer's collection)By Tracey EminLocated in New York, NYTracey Emin Me + Paul We Are the Trolls, 1995 Monoprint on paper Signed, titled and dated in graphite pencil on the front Frame included Measurements: Framed (original vintage frame included) 15.5 inches vertical by 20.5 by .75 inches Work 11.5 inches vertical by 16.5 inches horizontal Provenance: The Collection of Douglas S. Cramer, USA Hubert S. Bush Collection USA (with label) Jay Jopling, London (with label) - Jay Jopling is the legendary founder of White Cube Gallery This early (1995) monoprint is part of Tracey Emin's "troll" series, depicting her younger self and her (now estranged) twin brother Paul as children with sometimes murderous thoughts. It was acquired from the collection of Douglas Cramer, (August 22, 1931 – June 4, 2021) a top American television producer who worked for Paramount Television and Spelling Television, producing series such as Mission: Impossible, The Brady Bunch, and Dynasty - who amassed one of the most distinguished collections of contemporary art in the United States. A 2011 Daily Mail article entitled "If you Think Tracey Emin is Wild, say Hello to her Terrible Twin" describes a different monotype, also from the troll series, that Tracey gave to her brother Paul, which he promptly and publicly sold on a TV show, much to her chagrin. The article reads: "Yet there is one person central to Tracey's life who has managed to stay largely shielded from the public eye: her twin brother Paul.. He leads a life that could hardly be more different to Tracey's. She is worth millions, is a household name, owns an estate in the South of France and has A-list friends such as Kate Moss, Orlando...Category
