About the Item
Backy is a hand coloured limited edition drypoint etching with carborundum by Kate Boxer. Backy is a limited edition print in an edition of 30. The bold monochromatic work contrasts the neon orange ball held in Backy’s mouth. Kate Boxer makes the plates in her studio which are then sent to to the master printmakers. After they have been printed, they are numbered and signed by the artist Kate Boxer. What makes Kate Boxer’s prints different to other prints is that, if they are hand coloured, they are coloured in by the artist. This work is sold unmounted and unframed.
Kate Boxer, artist and printmaker, is available online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Kate Boxer’s was born in Sussex in 1961 and studied art at the London Art Schools. Wychwood Art are delighted to be working with Kate Boxer selling her beautiful etchings. Kate Boxer’s artworks encapsulate her highly individual style which is both contemporary yet grounded. Kate is one of our most popular artists. Kate Boxer was born in Sussex in 1961. She is an artist of vitality, kindness and wit. She sees animals in a quirky, whimsical and highly individual way and there is an engaging eccentricity to much of her work which makes you laugh out loud. She often adds her jokes into the titles of her work, indicative of her free spirit and original take on life.
