Medium: color woodcut. Catalogue reference: Gabler 44. Printed in Paris and published in 1953 by Editions d'Art d'Aujourd'hui, of Boulogne. Sheet size, including margins: 11 3/4 x 8 1/8 inches (300 x 206 mm). A richly inked impression, as usual from this now rare series. Not signed.
Condition: the margins have been trimmed and there is a stain near the bottom left.

Ernst Wilhelm Nay was born on June 11, 1902, in Berlin, Germany. He was a painter and graphic designer of classical modernism. He is considered one of the most important painters of German post-war art. Nay died on April 8, 1968, in Cologne, Germany.
