This lithograph in colours is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Marc Chagall" at the lower right margin. It is also hand numbered in pencil from the edition of 150, at the lower left margin. This work was printed in 1964 by Charles Sorlier after a Chagall gouache in a limited edition of 150 hand signed and numbered impressions. It was published by Mourlot, Paris as part of Chagall's ‘Douze Maquettes de Vitraux Pour Jerusalem’ [Twelve Maquettes for Jerusalem Stained Glass Windows], that included 12 beautiful lithographs by Sorlier after Chagall’s designs. The stained glass windows were for the synagogue of Hebrew University's Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem. The details of the printer are inscribed in the plate at the lower part of the image and the edition details appear as an ink stamp, verso. The paper bears the Arches watermark in the right margin.
