Original stone lithograph poster: Droit D' Ainesse (The Birthright) Opera. Early stone lithograph that is archival linen backed and ready to frame. Not mint; but in very good condition. A girl this old is allowed to show her age.
Original linen-backed early 1880's vintage opera poster. Le droit d'aînesse ("The Birthright") is an opéra bouffe, a form of operetta, in three acts by Francis Chassaigne with a French libretto by Eugène Leterrier and Albert Vanloo. It premiered in Paris in 1883. Le Droit d'Aaînesse was first performed on 27 January 1883, at the Théâtre des Nouveautés in Paris, directed by Jules Brasseur with a cast featuring Marguerite Ugalde, Jean-François Berthelier, Juliette Darcourt, Albert Brasseur and Eugène Vauthier. There is some foxing in the cream border and restored original fold marks. It has excellent colors and is still bright and vibrant because it is a stone lithograph.
At this age of an original vintage poster, it would be very difficult to find one in better condition or to even find another one. This poster is 140 years old.
