"Lola de Valence is a painting by the painter Édouard Manet in 1862 . The canvas represents a dancer dressed intraditional Spanish clothes(Lola Melea), and somehow echoes the Spanish singer , painted in 1860. These two paintings are characteristic of the painter's Hispanic period, during which the latter was strongly influenced bySpanish art and Diego Vélasquez . Lola de Valence has the distinction of being the first work by Manet to have aroused disapproval of the suggested eroticism of his theme, thus paving the way for the more important scandals of Lunch on the Grass and Olympia " Courtesy of Wikipedia

In 1904, Anders Zorn purchased an ancient farmhouse which he moved to the parish of Gopsmor, situated by the river Dal, North-West of Mora. The simple ritualistic lifestyle of its people, with whom he felt affinity, and Gopsmor's geographical isolation, became for Zorn, a place of refuge for the cosmopolitan artist". - Christie's, London, UK Biography: Anders Leonard Zorn...
