Martin Whatson (born 1984) is a Norwegian stencil artist. He studied art and graphic design at the Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo. He had been interested in graffiti for years and followed the development within street art. In 2004 he began his own artistic activity.
Martin Whatson is best known for his calligraphic doodles in grayscale blank spaces. Over the last decade he has developed a distinctive aesthetic that combines abstract movements with figurative stencil compositions. His works can be seen to mirror the rise and fall of the streets, as he symbolically recreating the urban environment and then destroying it to reveal his vibrant transformations.
