1988
About the Item
Printed in black and grey, this large scale abstract monotype depicts an interior scene. While Zalopany typically draws with subtle gradations of color and texture, here the artist employs the drama of bold, thick brushstrokes that reveal the ink's natural sheen. Known for her large-scale landscapes, interiors and haunting Detroit cityscapes, Zalopany attends to this more intimate scene with the same characteristic mastery of light and shadow.
