About the Item

This rare 1890 edition of Les Fleurs du mal is a suite of original engravings by Odilon Redon. Complete and homogeneous series of 8 héliogravures (Evely process) within the editorial portfolio in-folio (mm 454x322). In the same year, the same editor realized a second edition in 8° in 100 copies, with no engraved titles. With the title “Les fleurs du mal. Interprétations par Odilon Redon”, the artist retraces, through a rapid iconographic synthesis, the literary masterpiece by Charles Baudelaire. Marvelous impressions printed on Vélin teintè. Editorial margins, unperceivable traces of oxidation on the borders. Editorial portfolio in cardboard and canvas, slightly loosened and with light spots of moisture and usage. This artwork is shipped from Italy.
