William Gropper
William Gropper, (Choral Group)

1938

About the Item

An early serigraph (screen print) by William Gropper. There's a harpist to provide the music and a choir master conducting. The seated members of the group are individually drawn as only someone as skilled as Gropper could make them. 'William Gropper' is written in pencil in the lower margin -- not a signature. On the back there's a note 'Printer's proof, Graphic Div. FPA, 1938.' However to the best of my knowledge this wasn't issued by the Project.
