About the Item
Bird’s Eye View of Glascow original 1888 wood engraving is from The Graphic by H.W. Brewer who was well known for his aerial views of topographical panoramas. He was also the favorite perspectivist of the famous architect George Frederick Bodley. This 1888 wood engraving was a supplement to The Graphic and is a wonderful detailed view of Glascow. The main central image is Glascow from the Necropolis and is surrounded by ten other scenes from the area including the University tower , the municipal buildings, harbors, churches, the University College, the Iron Works and more. Brewer is a master of detail and anyone interested in this part of the world will find this image fascinating. This print is in good condition with creases on the left and right sides. There is a small tear in the top left border corner that has been repaired and will not show when framed.
