A Lionel Edwards lithograph depicting the Quorn - part of the artist's 'Hunting Countries' series.
The Quorn Hunt has a claim to be the oldest hunt in the country, being founded in 1696 by Mr Thomas Boothby of Tooley Park, Leicestershire. The hunt takes its name from the village of Quorn, where the hounds were kennelled from 1753 to 1904.
Lionel Edwards was a British artist who specialised in pictures of country life, particularly horses, and provided illustrations for Country Life. He is best known for his hunting scenes but also painted pictures of horse racing, shooting and fishing.
