Partridge was an important early 20th century California etcher. He was married to the famed photographer Imogen Cunningham. Partridge also created a body of now rare and sought after photographic work. As a result, his circle of friends included, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Dorothea Lange, and Maynard Dixon.
