A sublime poster steeped in history.
Maurice Pineau created this work to promote the F.F.I exhibition held at the Berlitz Palace in 1944.
The Forces françaises de l'intérieur (FFI) represented the main military groupings of the French Resistance in occupied France: the Secret Army (AS, Gaullist, comprising Combat, Libération-Sud and Franc-Tireur), the Army Resistance Organization (ORA, Giraudist) and the Francs-tireurs et partisans (FTP, Communist).
The FFI played a significant role in preparing for the Allied landings in Normandy in June 1944, and in the liberation of France.
