Vintage official reproduction poster issued for London Underground featuring artwork by one of the most renowned poster artists of the 20th century Edward McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954) of the Great Fire of London with the bright orange, red and yellow flames engulfing the buildings, the thick smoke rising dramatically to the side with the text over wavy flame coloured lines above - This is a reproduction of a poster designed for London Transport - and the description below with the roundel logo - This famous London Transport poster, designed by E. McKnight Kauffer in 1922, is reprinted to commemorate the anniversary of the Great Fire of London in September, 1666. Copies of this and many other London Transport posters may be seen and bought, price 10/- each, at the Poster Shop, 280, Marylebone Road, N.W.1, near Edgware Road, (Circle Line) station. Good condition, creasing, tears, staining, fold.
