Original antique poster - Munchner Hof Danny Gurtler - featuring an image of a moustached man wearing a hat and holding a hammer over his shoulder in black and white, his shirt in red with the title above and actor's name in stylised lettering on the light brown border, the words of an 1863 revolutionary poem by Georg Herwegh (1817-1875) in red between two decorative boxes below - Alle Rader stehen still Wenn Dein starker Arm es Will ... / All wheels stand still When your strong arm wants it ... This poem became the struggle song of the German Workers' Association (later the SPD Social Democratic Party). The theatre and film actor Danny Gurtler (Georg Daniel Gurtler; 1875-1917) was also a cabaret artist, lyricist and poet who wrote under the pseudonym Walter Emil Diller. Artwork by Georges Rogier (b 1884). Good condition, tears, creasing, staining, small paper losses on edges.
