Original antique political election propaganda poster featuring a humorous illustration depicting a caricature of the statesman and Liberal politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1908 to 1916 Herbert Henry Asquith (1852-1928), peeking out from under a bed and speaking to the Leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party John Edward Redmond (1856-1918) in a green dress with shamrocks on it, an upturned chair and a bag of money in $ on the mantelpiece in front of a broken mirror in the background, the speech caption below - Mr Asquith (Under the Bed) "I will be the master in my own house. I won't come out if I don't want to!" With Apologies to Punch. Artwork by the notable artist John Hassall (1868-1948). Published by The National Union of Conservative & Constitutional Associations. Printed by David Allen & Sons. Horizontal. Fair condition, creasing, tears, staining, small paper losses.
