Original vintage travel poster promoting Discover Australia During the Celebrations (1934-35) Victorian & Melbourne Centenary (1934-35 commencing October) Sydney Festival Fortnight (1934 November). Great artwork by the only Australian artist to attend the New York School of Art John Vickery (1906-1903) featuring a tall ship in full sail sailing on an ocean against a dramatic cloudy sky in the background with the stylised lettering and kangaroo logo against the sea below. Issued by the National Australian Travel Association. Printed by J.T Picken & Sons Pty Ltd Melbourne. Good condition, restored paper losses in margins, restored stain, backed on linen.
