About the Item

The artwork is an original edition by Superstudio, issued by "Plura editions", Milan. The piece bears an original ink stamp by Superstudio on the lower left, and an original blind stamp by Adolfo Natalini on the lower right, and it is numbered in pencil on the lower left. It is numbered 266/500. This edition is a famous project executed by the visionary Radical Architectural movement of the early Seventies. The piece could be accompanied by a certification of authenticity issued by a gallery. The conditions of the piece are mostly perfect: no traces of time and no scratches and any trace of time on the margins. The piece travels unframed so as to have cheaper and safer shipping to you. As the piece travels from Italy, please consider that the fulfillment of exportation papers requires a minimum of one week from the moment of purchase. A group of avant-garde architects composed of Adolfo Natalini, Cristiano Toraldo di Francia, Roberto Magris, Gian Piero Frassinelli, and Alessandro Magris, (with Alessandro Poli from 1970 to 1972), Superstudio was one of the initiators of the so-called “Radical Architecture”. Engaging in an attempt to anthropological re-foundation of architecture, he has been carrying out patient research for twenty years on objects, environments, and architecture, through design and construction. From 1973 to 1975 he was part ( as a co-founder) of Global Tools, a system of laboratories for the development of collective creativity. From 1973 to 1978 he dedicated himself to research and teaching, working on the “Extraordinary Material Culture”. The projects and writings of this group have appeared in numerous publications and exhibitions all over the world. Since its foundation, Superstudio has been developing research of a critical and theoretical nature that will rarely lead to the realization of concrete projects, preferring to give life to a utopian vision. The members convey their ideas through collages and critical texts often published in the magazine “Casabella”, at the time directed by Alessandro Mendini, also close to the positions of the Radical Architecture.
