Original antique political election propaganda poster issued by the Liberal Party - Why Toryism Would Mean Dearer Living - featuring an illustration depicting the British Conservative statesman Arthur James Balfour 1st Earl of Balfour (1848-1930; Prime Minister 1902-1905) holding a plate with a small loaf of bread on it, in front of a framed quote on the wall - If you are to give a preference to the colonies you must put a tax on food. Mr. Chamberlain in the House of Commons, May 28, 1903 - with the title above and text below the image reading - When this you see, remember that Mr. Balfour and the Tories are in favour of taxes on food, and taxes on food would mean the LITTLE LOAF. Printed and Published by The Avenue Press, London. Good condition, creasing, pinholes, folded, minor tears, repaired tears.
