Original antique political election propaganda poster issued by the Liberal Party - The Hobbled Skirt of Tariff Reform. Stick to Free Trade - featuring a colourful illustration of the goddess Britannia wearing a warrior helmet and holding a trident in one hand and a shield marked Commerce with a Union Jack flag in her other hand, a banner tied around the end of her skirt reading Tariffs above the water lapping on the beach around her feet, a sailing ship at sea and lighthouse in the distance on the blue background set within a double line frame with the bold stylised lettering above and below. Published by the Liberal Publication Department and Printed by T. Mathews & Co, Leicester. Good condition, creasing, folded in the middle, browning.
