Original vintage illustrated map poster for Cameroun AOF Afrique Occidentale Francaise / Cameroon French West Africa showing the Central African country of Cameroon in pink and green on the Gulf of Guinea bordered by Nigeria, Chad, Guinea and Gabon with illustrations of people, trees, mountains, farming, rivers, roads, animals including lions, horses, oxen, antelopes, ostriches, hippos, rhinos and elephants, ships at sea with fish between white line waves, a plane flying over the jungle by the compass point and scroll reading Afrique Equatoriale Francaise / French Equatorial Africa, a small inset image showing Cameroon on the continent of Africa over a traditional village scene, and the title in red letters above set within a decorative frame border. Artwork by Leo Craste (1887-1970). Published by the Ministere de la France Ouremer Agence des Colonies / Ministry of France Overseas Colonial Agency. Printed by A. Karcier, Paris. Large size. Each screen print measures 26 x 21 inches. Each screen print is hand signed, dated, numbered by Robert Indiana. Roman numeral edition XLII/L (there were also a main edition of 200 and 50 artist's proofs), Artwork is in excellent condition. Certificate of Authenticity included.
