Original Vintage Poster For Sanchi Visit India Architecture Great Stupa Buddhism

About the Item

Original vintage travel poster - Sanchi Visit India - featuring a colourful illustration depicting the ancient Great Stupa at Sanchi on a hill and decorative carved torana northern entrance gateway to the historic 3rd century Buddhist complex set over an orange and yellow background with the bold white and yellow lettering on a blue background below. Commissioned by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka the Great this Buddhist monument is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Issued by the Tourist Traffic Branch, Ministry of Transport and Published by the Advertising Branch. Printed in India by M.S. Associated Printers (Madras) Ltd. Good condition, restored tears, staining, creasing, pinholes, backed on Japanese paper.
