Clean, modern depiction of glasses of water on books by Ellen Ezorsky (American, b. 1956). Three glasses of water are sitting atop a few stacked books. While this piece is executed in black and white, Ezorsky has achieved a wide tonal range between the shadows and highlights, bringing the scene to life. Of particular note is the way she has captured the reflections in the water and the light that the glasses cast on the surfaces below them. Mat size: 20"H x 16"W Paper size: 15"H x 10.75"W Ellen Ezorsky (b. 1956) was born in New York City. After graduating from highschool in New Jersey, she attended State University of New York at Purchase before moving to California. In California, she attended Cabrillo College in 1977 and ’78 before spending two years at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Ezorsky then returned to the west coast to attend and graduate from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Studio Art. She then earned her MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. Since graduating, Ezorsky has exhibited extensively and her paintings have been acquired for many private collections across the country.
