About the Item
Unique brutalist abstract assemblage wall sculpture by Texas artist Ann Bengtson. The work incorporates a large swirl pattern at the top of the piece as well as a section of rattan caning, reminiscent of a bee hive. Signed and dated by artist on reverse. Bengtson was known for creating these types of brutalist assemblage works. She never sold a piece during her lifetime and instead just kept them in her studio. After her death, her artwork began to sell and now has a market all it's own.
