About the Item
This intense abstract bronze sculpture was created by the Italian artist Eli Riva in the Late 20th Century. The artwork is a multiple numbered and signed of 500 specimens. The title is "Sole Luna" translated in "Sun Moon".
This artwork represents the research for the tridimensional essence of the human figure in the universe. Humanity that becomes part of it loosing the material part of the body. The sculpture is engraved also on the back, where is visible the total absence of human shape: in this way the human essence is totally asborbed by the universe.
Eli Riva was born in 1921 in Como, Italy. He attended during five years the Cimabue Accademia in Milano, the artistic Brera school and of the Castle. In the 1944 received his degree in Art by Brera Accademia. His first individual exhibition was placed in the Cultural Centre S.Fedele in Milano in 1950 and most other exhibitions in numerous Italian towns. In 1950 he got the 1° prize Terragni Architect, Y.M.C.A. exhibition. He realized numerous public works and private collections.
