Kevin Barrett
Kevin Barrett has been surrounded by abstract sculpture and painting his entire life. He comes from a family of artists, including his father, Bill Barrett, who is also a sculptor. His grandfather, Stan Barrett, was a world renowned abstract painter who studied with Fernand Léger, and who founded the Art Department at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. The works of his father and grandfather have had a lasting influence on the work Barrett creates, as he successfully blends the disciplines of sculpture and painting in his own art. Kevin Barrett was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1962. Several years later, his family relocated to Westchester, New York, where he spent his formative years. At the age of 14, Barrett’s father taught him how to weld, and he began creating his own sculptures. From these early sculptures, he won a Golden Key Award in the arts. Barrett received his first commission at the age of 18, in which he created an 8-foot aluminum sculpture that would be displayed in front of Hastings High School in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The sculpture, entitled “Upright” (1980), still stands there today. Barrett studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, as well as the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Upon completing his studies, he was employed by the Shidoni Foundry in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he worked in fabrication and bronze casting. Barrett set up his first studio in Miami, where he worked restoring sculptures by Joan Miró, Louise Nevelson, Willem de Kooning, and Pablo Picasso for a private collector. During this time, he was also creating his own work and showing extensively in the area, in galleries such as the Joy Moos Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami. After eight years in Miami, Barrett returned to New York City, where he maintained a studio in Brooklyn for over twenty years. In 2012, he relocated to Duxbury, Massachusetts, where he currently works and resides with his wife and three daughters. Barrett’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, and South America, and can be found in the collections of the Vero Beach Museum, Florida, the Interlocken Center for the Arts, Michigan, the Kruizenga Art Museum at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, as well as the cities of Coral Springs, Florida, and Stamford, Connecticut. His work has also been commissioned by both corporate and private collectors. Considered an expert in his medium, he has independently consulted with and built sculptures for a number of well-known artists including Herbert Ferber, Tom Wesselmann, Marjorie Strider, and Allan Houser. His advice and consultation in the creation of metal sculptures continues to be sought after.

I have 2 similar ones available. Zigi Ben-Haim (born 1945 in Baghdad, Iraq) is an Iraqi-American-Israeli painter, collage artist and sculptor who lives and works in New York City and Israel. Ben-Haim unveiled his sculpture, Treasure the Green, in SoHo on Broadway. The project was sponsored by the SoHo Broadway Initiative and the New York Department of Transportation's Art Program. The sculpture is considered to be the first sculpture to receive permission to be installed on a bus bulb on Broadway. The sculpture was made to "emphasize the importance of nature in our lives," and stands as a reminder of "the importance of reconnecting with the pure nature of the green." The sculpture uses the symbol of the leaf, which has been a major icon of Ben-Haim's work for the past 30 years. It symbolizes nature and it is a metaphoric way of emphasizing nature and the surrounding environment. He is of the first generation of Israeli artists to develop large international followings like Yaacov Agam, Menashe Kadishman and Avigdor Arikha. Ben-Haim has received numerous grants and awards, including from Pollock-Krasner Foundation, National Endowments for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Emily Harvey Foundation Venice, Muestra Int. de Obra Grafica (Spain), and the Ministry of Culture in Israel. His works are included and exhibited in numerous public and private collections around the world, including the Guggenheim Museum in N.Y.C., the Jewish Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Israel Museum, and the Tel-Aviv Museum. - Collaged Geometric Disc Mobile - Abstract, Colourful, Canvas and Board MobileBy Aron HillLocated in Bloomfield, ONDynamic and whimsical, Aron Hill’s mobile is a joyful contemporary kinetic sculpture. Three separate discs are covered in a curated collage of shapes and brilliant colours. The colour profile here is Hill’s characteristically vivid palette-- orange, yellow, blue, red, and green punctuated by black and white. Delicately balanced, the sculpture moves in the air redefining the space and affording the viewer a fresh ‘view’. Mobiles have existed for millennia—at first as windchimes, then re-imagined by Russian sculptors...Category

- VERSO EQUIVALENCE 1 - acrylic, staples, pine wood, cut linen -Abstract geometricBy Linda King FergusonLocated in Signal Mountain, TNThis painting by Linda King Ferguson is part of her equivalence series, which began as a feminist project; works that subvert the historically male gaze and a material language speaking of gendered concerns. While typically, King Ferguson paints both sides of the canvas and cuts a flap on the the frontside to reveal the color of the back of the canvas, she unexpectedly does the opposite here. The painting is hung from the "frontside" of the canvas, revealing to us the raw edges of her linen canvas, stapled to the stretchers. Two oblong shapes of pink and red dominate the center of the painting. A thin semioval cut has been made inside of both of these shapes. Her color choices first came from Helen Molesworth’s essay, Painting With Ambivalence, published in WACK! Art of the Feminist Revolution. The Essay includes a large reproduction of Mary Heilmann’s 1979 painting...Category
