Black Tapestry is an evolution of patterns that swirl with different textures and patterns throughout the sculpture. In some places, the colors ran like rivers, creating tiny lines of colors and in other places, the colors remained true to their origins, and decisive lines of color remained constant. Blues and grays with hints of yellows can be seen upon closer inspection of this incredible heart shaped sculpture.
What makes "Black Tapestry" truly special is the unique evolution of patterns that occurred during the firing process. As the different colors shrunk and merged around each other at high heat, they transformed into a new, singular color palette, with black emerging as the dominant hue. This process resulted in a sculpture that is truly one-of-a-kind, with a depth and complexity that draws the viewer in.
