About the Item

Hand carved in West Africa, using centuries old techniques, this stool is produced by the royal family of the Bamun tribe in Cameroon. Carved from the trunks of coffee shade trees which are brought down by the carvers at the request of the farmers when they become overgrown, this stool brings artisans and agriculture together to enrich one another. The pattern speaks of the circle of life and unity within the community which this stool thoroughly embodies. A NEW COLLABORATION Tina West + Tucker Robbins 2020 The Robin Rice Gallery is pleased to present a photographic exhibition by Tina West, featuring a special new collaboration between Robin Rice and furniture designer, activist Tucker Robbins. Jessica Kravitz of Exalted Alchemy created an aromatic experience exclusively for the exhibition. The installation was designed by sculptor Amy Pilkington.
