Herbivore fossil

2017

About the Item

This shallow relief sculpture is of a 135 million years old fossil of a unknown herbivore discovered in India from the jurassic period. Davies chose this fossil amongst a plethora of others that is intrinsically beautiful in its appearance, stance and general appeal. His aim here is to tap into a largely undiscovered sculptural beauty inherent in the science of palaeontology. Sculpted in herculite and cast in bronze it is designed to be wall mounted. This fossil is gilded in gold with a hilded palladium background. This artwork is to be ordered with 14 to 16 weeks from confirmed order to collection date.
