Bronze Warthog Bust on Sandstone base H 16 cm x W 13 cm x D 8 cm. Base size 8 x 8 x 4 cm. Edition 2 of 9 - ready for shipping. Meticulously crafted, this bronze artwork captures the poise and alertness of the warthog – a testament in bronze to strength and resilience. The features of this formidable creature and adversary are meticulously crafted, from the fierce expression etched upon its face to the intricate detailing of its wiry mane. Each wrinkle and fold in its skin tells a story of battles fought and challenges overcome. Despite its fierce appearance, there is also a sense of grace in the warthog's stance. Greetings from the southern hemisphere, Firstly a thank you to you for looking at my work and to 1st Dibs for providing this excellent platform to artists. My passion for Africa, its people and wildlife are an enduring hallmark of my life. Much of my bronze art is inspired by Africa's magnificent wildlife and people. Taking inspiration from the bush and my previous experience as a safari guide my creations strive to capture the essence and beauty of the animals I sculpt. My expertise ranges from figurative, wildlife, bird, abstract to African works and more recently bespoke furniture & lighting in cast bronze. Each piece is exclusively sculpted, cast, chased and finished by myself – from beginning to end. Using the lost wax method of bronzing, I cast each piece at my own foundry (The Black Dog Foundry) and it is finished individually by hand with each piece and patina being unique.
