Henry Alfred Jacquemart (1824-1896): born the February 22, 1822 in Paris, died in 1896. He was an animal sculptor. He studied at the Fine Arts in 1845 and was Delaroche and Klagmann student. He is well known for his bronzes of Saint Michel fountain, for the lions at Hotel de Ville, the Rhinoceros at Orsay, for the Evangelist at Saint Augustin church, for the Sphinx at Chatelet in Paris, and for other art works in the provinces and abroad.
Museums: Paris, Belfort, Chambery, Le Mans, Montpellier, Nantes, Nîmes, Metz, Aix-les-Bains, Bergues.
