Young Lama is a bronze sculpture by French contemporary artist Marine de Soos, dimensions are 15.5 × 7.5 × 8.5 cm (6.1 × 3 × 3.3 in).
The sculpture is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 8 editions + 4 artist’s proofs, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This piece of figurative art features a bust of a young Tibetan child dressed traditionally. The ochre and delicate colour palette of this work demonstrate the artist's poetic imagination, which has been greatly influenced by her numerous travels.
Marine de Soos creates poetic sculptures in bronze, flooded with emotion. She relates true stories and conveys moments of pure joy, rehashed from souvenirs gathered from here and there : the position of a hand, a foot, the tilt of a head… Whatever the starting image an emotion is unequivocally connected : ” I can only work when I am feeling emotional” says the artist who admits not having “a vision of what [she is] going to create.” Her only guide… the emotion and, ultimately, an invitation to take a rare poetic journey which thrusts the viewer into a contemplative state.
