Nato a Locarno nel 1928, Nag Arnoldi è tra gli scultori svizzeri più famosi al mondo. Dopo essersi formato presso gli atelier luganesi di Mario Chiattone, Antonio Chiattone, Carlo Cotti, Giuseppe Foglia e Filippo Boldini, ha iniziato ad esporre le proprie opere in Ticino e nei dintorni a partire dalla metà degli anni Cinquanta. Nel corso della sua carriera ha intrapreso numerosi viaggi in Messico, dove entra in contatto con l'arte indigena maya e azteca e delle Civiltà precolombiane, ma anche in Italia, Porto Rico e negli Stati Uniti. Tra le sue opere più note vi sono numerose sculture ispirate ai cavalli; in diverse chiese parrocchiali del canton Ticino (per esempio a Comano, Neggio, Camorino e Calonico, fusosi nel 2005 a Faido) è inoltre possibile ammirare affreschi, altari e statue di sua composizione.
