Ray Padron
ST. ROPER - Sculpture of White Glove, 3D Scanned and Printed

2016

About the Item

ST.ROPER is a 3D-printed sculpture by Ray Padrón created in 2016. The piece belongs to a series of work centering around clothing items and their relation to people in the artist’s life. Uniquely to other, wood carved pieces in the series, the sculpture is a 3D piece, with the scan used later for DEGLOVING (2018). It also doesn’t carry any story representative to a specific person, but rather focuses on the symbolic removal of a body without which the glove becomes pristine, untouched, and devoid of its function. ST.ROPER was featured as part of the RepresenTENN group exhibition at the Channel To Channel Gallery.
