About the Item

Joseph is a conceptual artist who was born in Paris in 1961. In his latest series of creations, the work assigns the viewer a place, a function, and a power. It acts as an abyss when the viewer sees through it, and in another way, our gaze concretizes it as such. The engaged work of the artist in this sense, by the use of text rather than images, sends a signal to us, giving the intuition of what he sees, the assembly of a work of lime confronted with the stiffness of the steel which includes the reflection of the viewer. As for the past and the present, the "person within the work" is the sum of their years. This is actually the moment where our own reason starts to see.

  • Hand's End
    By Hunt Rettig
    Located in Miami, FL
3-D Mixed Media Assemblage Hunt Rettig is known for his analog 3D assemblages that produce the illusion of 2D, backlit, digital illustrations. Rettig’s process-based discipline is a continual quest to transform quotidian material into the sublime. In Rettig’s hands, moldable synthetics and reflective acrylics become encapsulated sculptures implying kinetic movement if not actuating it. He has been drawn to the op and kinetic art movement since adolescence. "If I come to a fork in the road, my inclination is to continue going straight." An explorer of both geographic and psychological terrain, Rettig is most at home on a dirt path or body of water observing “familiar patterns that connect us as one, like source code.” Biomorphic shapes seen in Rettig’s work suggest sensual elements omnipresent in nature. How connected are we? “If it didn’t exist, if it didn’t resonate, we wouldn’t be here.” Inspiration: "When I was twelve I stepped into Jesus Soto...

Signed and numbered limited edition 1 of 6 + 3 AP. Sides are a dark wood espresso color for an elegant finish on the edges. About Anne Valverde: Parisian photographer fascinated by urban spaces and graphism of landscapes. She notably tries to make dream about people by photographs of idyllic decors. In her job, she links calligraphy and light, her two main passions. After digital processing, high-resolution prints are exclusively developed on silver paper. The purpose of her photos: be imaginative springboards, "windows with views". Since 2016, she has been working on the DREAM ART project: a neon set-up she photographs through many countries, a writing made of light on desert landscapes. Through the medium of neon, she revives the essence of the word "photograph", which means "writing with light" in Greek. In 2017, the DREAM ART project grew with new destinations such as Le Cap...
