Despite his familial roots not being native to Zaragoza, Blanchard's formative years were shaped by the deep connection his family had with the mountains. They instilled in him a reverence for the environment and a love for capturing its beauty through the lens of a camera.
Blanchard's formal education led him to pursue studies in Business Administration at university, providing him with a diverse skill set that would later complement his passion for photography. However, it was the blend of spontaneity and organization in his approach to photography that truly defined his work.
His methodology encompasses both planned and unplanned shoots, allowing room for creativity and serendipity to intertwine seamlessly. Miami Skin is one of the few “Still photo” project realized only in Black and White. It’s not a traditional collection of photos about the architecture of Miami and Miami Beach. It’s rather a quick journey between its own skin from the Art Deco District to the modern skyline of our days. Stripes, circles, squares, reflections show only some details of important buildings but they all have the power to arise emotions and unexpected shapes and volumes inside us.
A final touch is reserved for nature skin from the ocean to the tropical vegetation.
You need now to make an effort of imagination to discover and compose all pictures and eventually frame it in your own mind.
