Absence of vulgarity was central to Chanel’s definition of luxury, a view formed during her impoverished early life. Born in 1883 in Saumur, France, as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, she was just 12 years old when her mother died and her itinerant father put her in a home for orphaned girls run by a local convent. She learned to sew and, upon moving to Moulins six years later, became a seamstress. She also sang in nightclubs, earning the sobriquet “Coco,” an allusion to a popular song of the time. This is such a stunning vintage 1980's gold metallic knit pullover sweater from Claude Montana. This beautiful top has a slightly scooped round neckline with an open knit and rolled edge that is also found around the cuffs of the sleeves and hem. This sweater is fully lined in a sheer mesh fabric and it has an overall "slouchy" fit, which makes this a great sweater for a range of sizes. Made in Italy of 61% Polyester, 39% Nylon and it is lined in 100% Nylon. There is no size label, but we estimate this would best fit a modern S-L depending on desired fit.
