Exceptional telephone table in stitched leather with brass details which can also be used as a side table. Designed by the legendary French luxury designer Jacques Adnet in the midcentury. This piece is from his stitched leather series which he created in the 1950s. This series consisted of many metal furniture pieces such as chairs, tables, desks, and lamps, which were all given a leather skin. This skin was stitched by hand. A very time consuming process. And because of that, Adnet his stitched items were very high end and very expensive for their time. Our piece is the telephone table from the series. An item which is quite rare, since it is not the most common item people placed in their home. It is in black leather and has those nice handmade stitches. We received it from the 1st owners, who were Jacques Adnet lovers. They took great care of it, because it is very good condition for its age. Leather is vulnerable on a table, but this one seems hardly used. Only normal traces of use. A very collectable item because of its rarity and condition. We received this item from the 1st owner together with more Jacques Adnet items. They were lovers of Jacques Adnet and high end Art Deco. The table is made of white lacquered metal with a glass top and brass rings and feet. The guéridon is in vintage, used condition. Two of the rings are a bit bend. And it looks like it was re-painted white once by former owner. Traces of use to the white paint. Like many items by Jacques Adnet a real collectors item and hard to find.
