Incredible Mexican Modern Credenza, Frank Kyle, Pepe Mendoza
By Pepe Mendoza, Frank Kyle
Located in San Diego, CA
Stunning Frank Kyle Mexican Mid-Century Modern credenza / sideboard with large Pepe Mendoza solid brass and malachite door pulls, designed and created in the 1950s, Mexico City. Credenza has Four Large Pepe Mendoza solid brass and malachite door handles which are incredible and look great with Brass inlay on the top and brass sabots on the feet. Asian chinoiserie influence is apparent in this rare Mexican Modern design and an organic Mexican modernist that is true to the architecture and design of Mexico in the 1950s. The Mexican midcentury modernist movement included other great designers and architects like Arturo Pani, Don Shoemaker, Eugenio Escudero, Edmond Spence, Michael van Beuren and Clara Porset to name a few. Credenza is in excellent vintage condition. We have included detailed images of interior and exterior of cabinet which includes wear. Cabinet has brass ring surrounding left side keyhole and the right side doesn't have the brass ring. We are unsure if it ever had one as we purchased this way from collector and stated it was always this way. Credenza doesn't have a clear coat or lacquer finish as most Mexican Modern pieces do and we really prefer it this way which gives it a much better feeling of true organic Mexican Modern furniture...
