Raymond Besse Furniture

French, 1899-1969
Raymond Besse, born December 26, 1899 in Niort in Deux-Sèvres, died March 5, 1969 in Candé-sur-Beuvron in Loir-et-Cher), is a French painter. Raymond Besse arrived in Paris in 1916. He participated for the first time in the Salon des Indépendants in 1923. He then participated in many other exhibitions, including the Salon d'Automne. He has often represented the northern suburbs of Paris, Saint-Ouen, Montmartre and Clichy because he liked to paint the area and his paintings are testimonies of life in working-class neighborhoods during the first half of the century. Raymond Besse has also produced numerous works on the themes of Normandy and the Loire Valley. It was in the Loir-et-Cher that he spent his last years and died in 1969.
