An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver three piece tea service; an addition to our teaware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver three piece tea set consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. The pieces of this tea service have a plain rectangular rounded form onto a collet style base. The body of each piece is plain and embellished with an applied band of stylised gadroon decoration to the rim. The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover and retains the original carved painted wood cushion style finial; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this service. This antique teapot is fitted with the original carved painted wood angular handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece and plain sterling silver sockets.
